1) Is there a known expiration for the product or is it good

for long time for a well closed bootle , after first use.

2) What is the ideal number of coat on headlight ,

according to the manufacturer and the numerous users here ?

If I read well the posts , more than one coat is better as long the coats

are thin and well licked.

3) Is there an ideal patern in the application horizontal/vertical strokes ,

or a mix of the 2 , lets say one coat horizontal then the nest vertical

strokes ?

Can,t wait to received my bottle of this miraculous coat ,

quite long to wait , so I want the most updated info.

--and now to the topic---

1)Not sure of the shelf life i recieved my veil in May and it's fine....but the exact shelf life i'm not sure of..i don't think there is one :?

2)I have 2 thin coats on my head lights and one light coat on the licence plate

3)Best direction to go is horizontal and for flat surfaces using the sponge brush is the easiest

thank you for the tips.

the thin 2 coats on headlights is the thing i will do.

i was recently targeted by Lti Ultralite and resulting in a ticket

my car was not veiled and my v-1 just stayed zombie , no alarm

at all.

ticket say @ 1040 feet , grey charcoal metallic ,

even with Veil i wonder if i could have done better

because for slowing one has to see the leo car.

because the ray was not picked-up at 1040 feet , the closer

one get to the source the smaller becomes the ray.

v-1 was just in front of driver on the dash just slightly

at the wiper arm ,

even mounted higher i doubt v-1 will have set of.

in résumé : Laser is a silent killer.

Well, I think, right now, the best defence is:

1) an active jammer system, mounted low down near your plate/lights

2) Veil over your headlights

3) and possibly Veil over your plates or a laser diffuser plate cover.

I think thats pretty much the best system you could buy.

I would suggest that you mount your V1 with a clear LOS to the front and not obstructed by anything, even partially.

A V1 not going off to laser is most unusual - perhaps a first that I have heard - leading me to believe that the unit was not in a good position.

You may want to play it safe and have it looked at by VR or at least contact them to get their take on this...

I agree with nvr2fast except I would remove possibly from number 3 especially if you have a retroflective license plate. They can really tag you from a long ways away if you have one of these license plates on the front so I would protect it with at least a Laser Shield. Then I would add Veil followed by a laser jammer like the Blinder in that order depending on how much money one can afford to spend. If your V1 is not current like a version 1.7 you may consider upgrading it, but the money may be better spent on lidar countermeasures instead honestly.

Veil should have a long shelf life. I would keep it tightly sealed in both original containers and store it in a basement or other cool place directly out of sunlight. I put two relatively thick coats on everything reflective except the license plate. I only have a rear license plate that I covered with a Laser Shield coated with a thin coat of Veil, and I mounted two Blinder units closeby.

Hi , Veil Guy ,

according to the ticket : Lti Ultralite.

I am positively sure the v-1 , version 1.7 , year 2002 ,

was in shape , was tested with tv remote , days before.


Facts :

1) the trooper was on the right shoulder.

2) my car was in the left lane , 3 lanes highways ,

3 ) v-1 was driver side close to the windshield on the

dash , like 1/2 inch below the arm wiper.

4 ) ticket says : @ 1041 feet @ such speed.

5) I was overpassing a car .

6) the officer told me he used a laser handheld that he

keeps on the passenger seat.

7 ) He saw my v-1 , told him it did not set of ,

looked at me and said : ah ...those gadgets are made

by the same company that makes our laser ,

so , no surprise those gadgets are useless.

8 ) asked him if he used stealth mode , replied :

no such mode on my machine.

9) New York state , Saratoga county.

My explanation :

the trooper shooted the left headlight so v-1 was completely out

of line of sight , no reflection was picked-up.

I was instantaneously cooked.

He was a gentleman , very polite , not agressive at all ,

so did we , my wife and me.

Because we are Canadians we plan to pay the fine ,

Driving fast will become a political statement that

Big Brother gives us a loose.

We are driving fast on highways but not

we are not suicidal , if the situation asks for an adjustement

Sounds to me like you were on I87, Northway. They can be brutal in the greater Saratogo area. I used to drive to Quinze Nord and back. Glens Falls is particularly touchy where the Northway is 3 lanes each way.

This sounds a little fishy to me, I am afraid...

At 1000'+ feet, the beam should be sufficiently large enough to easily light up the sensitive V1 especially if the angle is as you suggested.

In my experiences, I would expect the V1 would have no trouble seeing this and alerting as such. Is it possible it missed this? I suppose, but it feels like a long-shot (non pun intended).

I don't know if this was stated, but what kind of vehicle were you driving at the time? If you were in an SUV/mini-van that has a high center of gravity, then it appears that the possibility of the V1 missing it is, perhaps, somewhat more plausible.

If you were driving a standard passenger vehicle, I would suggest you at least contact them and run your scenario by them and listen to what they have to say.

it is a Outlander 2005 from Mitsu.

Not that high , almost like a car , station wagon.

yes , 87 n/b .

In any case , it is endless : when we will have fix the laser

threat they will come up with the UV-band laser / or

the on-board spy , which is just around the corner.

Stealthiness is a game where winning never last
