Good afternoon all and Veil Guy! Long time listener first time caller....
I finally saved up enough aluminum cans to get my Veil and laser shield plate covers.... Roy says they are shipping today.
Having read the forums over the last couple months I have already figured out that I need to apply one coat of Veil to the smooth side of the laser shield and make certain the smooth side with the Veil applied is against the state plate (will go on front and rear plates for aesthetics). I'll also place 1 coat of Veil on my headlights.
Now for the questions:
1) Is one "normal to heavy" coat of Veil preferred or would 2 light coats be best? Same answer for headlights and plates?
2) I drive a black VW Jetta and it has a nice "chrome" VW emblem in the middle of the grille and is slanted upward at about a 30 degree angle. The grille is black but has "chrome" strips on that run horizontally on both sides of the VW emblem. These are between 8" and 12" in width and only 1/8" to 1/4" high. Also, around the front bumper is another "chrome" strip that is about 1 1/2" high and runs the length of the black front bumper. Does it warrant applying Veil to these areas and if so what "color" will these display? Will it be the smoke color that the headlights become or more of the purple that the white license plates turn? (Iíll post pictures if you need them)
3) I guess I am receiving the latest batch of VeilÖ what has changed in this batch and what is included (new larger foam brush etc.)
Radar/Laser detection is via the V1 (3.818) mounted high and just to the right of the rear-view mirror, hardwired with remote display. (On a side note my "J" filter seems to be working fine - but I still treat "J's" like a real alert until I am certain it wasn't)
As a hobbyist photographer, Iíll document the process before/after if anyone feels there would be of value to the group.
Thanks in advance!
