I don't leave home without it... I actually cleaned off the old application last night, drove around for a little bit to do some errands, and felt naked the whole time. New application is going on tonight.

Other than a jammer, it's the only hope you have against laser, and at least around here, that's almost exclusively what they use (other than photo radar).

    Holein,

I am surprised...you don't sound much like the "fan" you used to.

My motorcycle is white and my car is metalic silver. I don't think Veil would help me very much.

    Maybe so.

But keep in mind, Sethy's car is metallic silver and he has had some terrific performance with Veil.

...Shape is more a factor than color.

At any rate, even if you are active, Veil will always improve your jammer's performance...and a lasershield on top of that would even do better.

Each will provide incremental improvements. How safe do you want to be?

I would like the Veil better if it stayed shiny instead of drying to a dirty looking haze. My Veiled headlights look better when they're wet.

When my HIDs go in, the Veil's coming off. Kill two birds with one stone. I haven't been lasered a long time.

Well i am about half way done taking it off. I have jammers now that don't need veil and i didn't like how it made night driving harder since it cut about 35% of my light output. I would rather get a ticket then crash my car becuase i can't see.

they make good HID conversion kits, that should help $150 and the lights can see 750ft-1000ft, I hate super bright lights, they hurt my eye's when someone is coming up from behind but on the flip side that $150 or veil money can go toward a good jammer

I think a lot of people use veil until they save up for a jammer, thats what i'm gonna do

Yup, it is working as good as ever (some chipping in the summer from bug splats, but generally it holds up very well). Right now, there's so much salt, dirt and grime spraying off the roads from melting snow, I don't think they could get a laser reflection off of anyone's lights, , but it's good stuff. Since I bought the can about 2 years ago, given what I've used out of it, I think the one can is a lifetime supply. Unless you do improve the forumula, then I'll be torn..

I guess everyone who thinks it is a scam or not worth it hasn't seen the indepedant test results, and/or have priorities that are a little different than mine (ie, I don't give a rats bum if my headlights look slightly less flashy to people I don't care about driving or walking by, but I do care a great deal about getting tagged by laser).

^ The problem with the various "plug-and-play" conversion kits, speaking of them in the framework of VEIL, is that you'll incur a further blue-shift, raising the color-temperature even more, and that in and of itself will further decrease the usefulness of the light either at night or under inclimate-weather conditions.

Additionally, you voiced a concern about "bright lights coming up behind you" - know that with any of these technically "improper" and actually road-illegal "plug-and-play" bulb, ballast, and ignitor kits, they do not interact well with the optics/reflectors of your standard incandescent lighting system, and the result can be anywhere from truly blinding to oncoming traffic to just slight annoyance.

Also, this imperfect mating of light production and optics may not render true the "so many lumens improvement" that such a system sees. Remember, light output is one side of the story - but the other side, just as importantly, is HOW that light is manipulated, and it's the optics that govern this.

    Look at it this way:

Why is it that my $500 handheld flashlight (about the size of a 3D-cell MagLite) with about 500 lumen output, can "throw" a beam of light nearly 3/4 of a mile downrange, while a typical 60W light-bulb, which produces somewhere in the neighborhood of 1400 lumen, can barely light up my outdoor patio?

Don't fall too easily into the trap of those aftermarket HID kits - they're nowhere near as good as a true factory-designed/engineered "OEM" HID system.
