    Default New G4 & ZR4 Videos

Believe it or not, we're getting very close Veil G4's release date.

About a month ago I managed to pull on Veil G4 canister out of the small run that was delivered to Radarbusters and I was interested to know how not only Veil G4 performed alone on my tough to stealth-out large metallic sedan, but get a first-hand look at well Veil G4 paired with the one laser jammer operating on my vehicle, at the time, the Laser Shifter ZR4.

I wanted to make some runs against two of the arguable most difficult guns to mitigate, the Stalker LZ1 and the Laser Atlanta in both non-stealth and stealth modes.

I've just finished compiling several of them:

    Interesting. Couple questions:

Where was the shooter aiming when targeting? What was the starting distance when you started to shoot? Just wondering because in our last meet, when I was doing a baseline on Hardy's Escape, headlights got PT at 1059 (about 10 seconds of targeting before PT, woot!) and center mass was around 721. Starting distance was probably around 1300 ft, going 23ish MPH. Granted, he has a lot of black plastic up front, so that might have helped him.

    Either way, cool vids.

    post some more video's...
did I hear correct? that video, you jtg w/no zr4 on? just veil only?

and if that's the case, how do we know how much the zr4 helped? do you have more where you get pt with the veil, then kick on the zr4 and then see how much it helped?

Im really curious, as I have the zr4 hooked up, and just waiting on the g4/shield.
and can you give a kinda eta on the release date? so I know how much longer I have to wait....

    ELVATO,

    Thanks.

In this instance the shooter shot as I believe most officers do: Aim center mass at the initial targeting distance (since the vehicle is farther away) and then since the vehicle doesn't have a front plate shift to one of the headlights when the vehicle gets into the range where a headlight shot is the easiest to get a reading off of.

In the case of the rear run(s), the shooter went for the rear plate area. Fortunately, in my case, the rear plate is black and not retro-reflective or I would have had it covered with something like a veiled lasershield, but since it was black, I don't feel the need to use one on the rear (at least, just for laser).

In so far as the frontal JTG experience, the was with one front stealth-mode run, we've historically done well with that mode and I believe now that we've improved out performance against that mode (as well as with the LTI guns, something we've experienced, particular with the front Veil G4 & ZR4 in combination in the real-world).

The ZR4 does a fine job, I believe, against both modes of the Laser Atlanta, as evidenced with that rear (JFG) run. Believe me, I had only Veil G4 on the rear, I would have been toast, easily.

Here are some G4 videos that Happya$$ took during memorial day weekend
against the same brands of guns (and an LTI 20/20) in preparation for speedtrap hunting. I believe Steve targeted similarly.

You're absolutely right, steady headlight shots have always been the Achilles' heel of "laser jammer" runs and that's why, I believe, some videos (to promote certain laser jammers) are floating around that avoid steady headlight shots on approaches because, IMHO, they hide any weakness that may exist.

The same thing applies to windshield shots, as well. Officer's aren't trained to shoot at such targets (because they're not good ones) as they are mostly transmissive (non-reflective anyway) and thus, when targeted, may mask performance "weaknesses" of any laser countermeasure.

Fortunately, headlights are my preferred targeting point, and that's why, I believe, jammer/Veil combinations play to the both of our collective strengths (and minimize any individual weakness that may exist in any given targeting scenario).

Stay "tuned," and I'll try to compile a few more that were run that day...

    06blackgto,

Thanks, dude. Video production takes a tremendous amount of time and computing power.

I've got new-found respect for what film editors and post production companies must go through!

About G4: yeah, they sure will. Everybody has been screaming at us.

So when do you expect the screaming to end and the cheering to begin? *Cough, not trying to get any info, cough* (Shifts eyes towards ceiling and whistles casually, in a very suspicious manner)...

Really though: As I said in another post I have tried to say very little about the wait on G4, for the simple fact that many companies have as of recent seemed to use the first consumers as (unknowing) Beta-testers, and many products having 'little gremlins'. I am hoping (and it seems) you certainly are trying to make this the best product it can be no testing left-undone.
