As a prospective VEIL purchaser, one of the biggest questions on my mind is "Does this provide practical protection against LIDAR?" So far, I've yet to find a single test out there that answers this question.
Most of the tests I've seen are either Veil+jammer or Veil-only tests that compare punchthrough distance with and without Veil. Of course, due to the passive nature of VEIL, the tests show just a modest reduction in PT range, which is completely expected.
The more important question during testing, IMO, is how many seconds does VEIL buy in protection from direct targeting at various ranges?.
I'd like a test that shows, for example, "A cop targeting you from 1000ft requires 3s to lock with Veil, 0.5s to lock without Veil, buying you 2.5s of valuable braking time."
Are there any tests out there, or planned, for this type of information?
