Default Veil G4 + Laser Shield Jeep Install (Testing Light Output)

I Finally did my Veil. First timer and used included brushes.

The reduction in light output looks great.

With the camera in auto mode it came came with the same exposure.
With the camera in manual mode you can compare the photos directly the camera was fixed with the same exposure only difference will be waht you see.

The Stealth photos (FLASH) got a little complicated.

I believe what happened is the FLASH saw the refection of the plate/headlights and put out less power. You tell by compare the FLASH before and FLASH after by looking at the back ground which is completely lit up.
So I darken the flash after photo so the backgrounds matched. After I could only darken it 2.0 F-Stops it's actually not quite darken enough for a comparison. But you can see Veil / LS is make the Lights and Plate stand out less.

I did complete light and fog lights. I did not do any chrome.

FLASH BEFORE (Compare to FLASH AFTER Darkened to match below)

AUTO BEFORE (Compare to AUTO AFTER Below)

MANUAL BEFORE (Compare to Manual AFTER below)

MANUAL AFTER (Compare to MANUAL BEFORE above)

AUTO AFTER (Compare to AUTO BEFORE Above)

FLASH AFTER (Compare to FLASH BEFORE but flash overpowered due to less reflection off plate)

FLASH AFTER (DARKENED TO MATCH FIRST PHOTO) Compare to FLASH BEFORE At the Top

FLASH BEFORE (SAME as first photo so you can compare)

Very nice work! I plan on doing something similar to show light output B4 and after. Thanks for your work.

That looks like a good 10-15% reduction?

    Good stuff.

I thought G4 was suppose to reduce the lightoutput of headlights less than g2 but it looks like tha same light output reduction

if you have a DSLR or other prosumer or highend compact, look for a feature called exposure lock. that should do the trick.

Guys you COMPLETELY misread my post.

I posted the picture in the order I took them and wanted to be careful I got the right ones with the right labels.

The light output was IDENTICAL as far as I could see andthe camera could see.

I took TWO Shots BEFORE VEIL and TWO SHOTS AFTER VEIL (in reverse order to minimize moving the camera) of the garage door.

Compare the TWO shots SHOT the SAME way BEFORE and AFTER !!

Compare AUTO before and AUTO after.
Compare MANUAL before and MANUAL after.

In AUTO Mode the exposure settings the CAMERA chose were identical which is all that matters. I probably should not of attached these. The MANUAL ones (i.e. the darker ones) I LOCKED the camera to one exposure and let my eyes decide.

And for the folks that are still having a hard time. Compare shot #3 and #4 and ignore the others.

I tucked the photo labels tighter to each photo to avoid confusion. All labels are directly above each photo.

I opened manual before and manual after in the same internet window and went forward and back to compare the two quickly/repeatedly... it actually looks like a noticeable amount of loss to me

They do have a slightly different color though. I thought they were pretty close brightness wise. But that's why I posted them to you could make your own judgement.

The camera thinks the same amount of light existed.

I'll try to post a pic of the headlights in daylight so you can see how thick Veil is for reference. I think I put a fairly thin coat on.

One mistake I made in the shots is I normally have the camera biased towards the center of the image for exposure. I should have set it to average the whole frame. Oh well.
