    Default THE VEIL GUY!

Hey bob this question is directed toward you. If I put veil on my headlights, if I put one 1 coat, would that affect lidar less then if I put 15 coats on?

    Default No

I believe it would be a total waste of product.

The attenuating characterstics of a nice single coat of Veil is greater than >90% with a single pass, when you factor in two passes [of light] in and out through the headlight surface - its over 99%.

So, save the product for another future treatment when need be.

I would recommend that if the lights get salty from the grime of the snow storms, etc. that you keep them [relatively clean] so Veil can best do its job.

The only time where I think VEIL may actually help with an additional coat is for highly retro-reflective plates.

Why does it recommend you to get a license plate cover and coat both sides?

Retro-reflective plates are an interesting creature.

Here, in PA, we have a treatment that is diamond etched or something to that effect which has an effect of significantly magnifying reflective light,

We found two coats effectively completely eliminates this behavior - don;t ask me why though as I only know that it works - not exactly why.

I Googled a link that my be interesting to read.

Two coats, though are only suggested to cover these particular surfaces.

Headlights, fog lights, brake lights, chrome don't fall under this category and would thus be unnecessary to coat twice.
