ok...here is my story. got a long trip in december 2k miles so i put veil in rush with foam brush. was cool , i got tested by Stealth Stalker and he clock me around 850 ft, without plate, min chrome , and no jammers. i know the first aplication was bad bcause i put like 2-3 times ,and dry with lines , not to obvious but still, i wasn`t happy.
so i got home from travel , and read some more and found out is a kit at home depo that helps to spray veil. went there got it, disapointed, it overspray , i may be rush a little but it give me black spots with uneven painted surface. didn`t have pic with that.
read some more and found out you can apply with airbrush , so i got home with the kit, and start clean the lens for the 2nd time. as you can see in the pic after apply with airbrush because wasn`t a good prep i end up with poor quality and overspray to cover the spots where the paint didn`t stick. in few words dark tinted headlights! ready for ticket )
well at least found out few things, clear coat is safe to apply , i use in the 3rd aplication and went well, not sure about performance + or - , and the airbrush is adjustable so i may have chance to do it again. and i should use it at distance when i spray.well got some thinner, alcohol, and some sandpaper and a buffer , plus some plastix paste, few polish bonets and back to work. as you may see in the last picture it worth all the practice, all i have left is clear coat , 2 coats and done! ready for install. sunday afternoon. i apply with airbrush but light coats , like 6-8 , looks smooth , "factory" and is not tinted like it was before, gives a "silver" look from angles , and kind of foggy look too, but from front is "clear" , i will post some pic after install back on car and after clear coat . not sure about performance hope i have chance to test it soon and see if with "silver" look is enough or i have to apply more coats (and it will be darker...) i don`t mind doing this as far as i get results. i got the "factory" clean smooth look and aplication , and what`s left is to find out how performant is clear coat and "silver "look... sorry for mistakes, is late and my eyes are closing !
