Default How to tell Veil Works?

    First laser encounter after Veil

    1:00 AM I30 from Dallas to Fort Worth, 65MPH in a 60

I was behind 2 cars... I saw them brake so I slowed down.

Soon enough I saw a cop outside his car hidden in the dark

Before the car right in front of me passed the cop, I got a laser alert for a full 5 seconds....

How do they usually use laser? Is it always on or only when triggered?

Did the cop not get a reading from my car the first few seconds so he just held on for 5 seconds?

I hear people saying that I should hear a laser alert followed by a pause then another laser alert

Only on when triggered. They normally aim at your plate or headlights, pull the trigger, and release when they get a speed locked in.

V1 alerts for about 2 seconds after it detects laser. So 5 seconds of alert could mean a single shot for a 3-4 seconds, or multiple shots picked up while the V1 was still sounding the first alert.

Most detectors sound their laser alerts for longer than they actually detect the laser, since otherwise it could be a very brief alert (a fraction of a second!) If the LEO hits you twice within a couple seconds, you would hear what sounds like a longer alert on the V1.

In most cases, if a LEO has trouble getting a speed because you have Veil or a jammer, they'll keep shooting until they get a speed, or in heavy traffic, they give up and look for another target.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

when they dont get a reading do they release the trigger and then press again?

or do they just keep it on like they are "spray painting" your car?

yeah when i had the X50 the laser alert was so annoying, it goes on for so long

They usually just "spray paint", but they could trigger repeatedly.

With a V1 you could get alerts from cars in front of you being "painted" as well. I even had an alert one time when I was near the LEO and he was shooting a car behind me.

V1 sounds for about 1.5-2 seconds after detecting laser; X50 sounds for about 5 seconds.
