My first can of Veil arrived last week, and after reading the instructions, decided to try applying it to my clear license plate cover in front (which is polycarbonate) and headlights. I have a 2006 Honda Accord EX.
Problem is, I was living dangerously. I live in Connecticut, sadly, very close to Newtown , and the outside temperature was around 45 (close enough to 50, I thought). The stuff went on great (I thought), but of course, the temp dropped overnight, even in the detached garage. Over the first 3-4 days since I applied it, the film has turned milky white in some places, and the plate was completely obscured. The headlights look a little better, but they still have white splotches on them.
I took ammonia to the plate cover, and this weekend, I'll finish removing it with more ammonia, rubbing alcohol and water.
My question is this... for those of us who live up North, what options do we have for applying Veil successfully between November and April? The stuff's expensive enough that I'd rather not experiment any more.
My first thought was ROAD TRIP. Drive to Miami, apply it there, and drive back to CT. As much as I'd like to do that, I just can't make it happen.
