Question for Veil Guy : is one coat like this enough ?
Yes one is enough although the coat looks a little thin! Did you watch the video of Bob applying veil to happy's civic? Also I would recommend using a 2" wide foam brush, using a small one like you did tends to cause lines.

Not to argue with you : the lines you see in pic ''lighton'' are almost invisible , you can see them because of the back-lighting effect .using a small one like you did tends to cause lines.
Is somebody tests a heavy coat is better than a thin one , the infrared light need only few molecules deep to absorb. Veil Guy : what are yours finding ?
Your application is TOO thin
RIP Duncan my BELOVED black lab son 8/7/99-3/23/11. I will miss you DEARLY.

buyradardetectors rocks!
I thought we really only needed a thin coat rather than a thick, darkening coat? Veil guy to the rescue with answers!
But do note that after it has dried a day or so it will NOT look the same as when it was just applied for an hour. It WILL change in look.
So , what is the best route you suggestedYour application is TOO thin
1) re-apply over the existing coat.
2) wipe evrerything and re-do a heavier coat.
Thanks.
Can you post a pic of the headlamps without the lights on like you did in the first pic (treated with veil of course)! Mabey's it's just the lighting but too me it looks like a very thin coat, I would watch the vid and follow bob's method to a T. I personally think a little thicker coat gives better result's.
I agree. I used to do 2 thin coats which would make up a thick coat, however that weakens and chips the VEiL.Originally Posted by happya$$
Apply it how bob had it in his video, and you will have a good thick coat on there with little or no streaks.
Good application job though, just a little thin. my vote is wipe it off, and re-apply. If you attempt to apply another coat on top of that one, that will be your recipe for disaster
Here's my wife's civic, I applied the veil exactly how bob did in the video using a 2" foam brush!
I did install aftermarket flat black insert's so that makes the light's appear a little darker, however before I treated them they were nice and clear like your's were in the first pic.
I concur....too thin.
