I know of a couple of people from Texas on the board. I was just wondering if you would help and give your input to what bands each city uses. If you had an encounter in a TX city list what city and bands encountered. If I have listed a city that uses a band I havent mentioned feel free to add it to your post.

Also if you are in grapvine DO NOT speed on mustang. There are cops always sitting by the stadium or in the medium where the speed drops 5mph

Yep no problem, also on my drives from Abilene to Carrollton there are lots of troopers and have had a few POP experiences driving this route.

I actually bought my X50 for the trip(s) to Abilene. I said (s) because I thought I would be going that way more often but things fell through.

The X50 saved my butt more then once. It detected 7 troopers on the way there and 11 on the way back, excluding local LEO's and ones that didnt have their radars running.

I had a full blown X-band encounter last week with visual verification i Richardson,Tx (on greenville at campbell rd).

over the weekend, has a full blown LASER alert in Plano,tx but never saw the cop (plano parkway between alma and custer).

by full blown, i mean all lights were on and solid audio tones for the alerts.

i ocassionally get Ka band hits (low to moderate strength) in plano,tx but usually do not see a cop. I did get a couple of POP hits on 75 south around the collins exit (plano/richardson) last week but no visual verification (although i have seen unmarked leos there in the past).

I have a couple of buddies working for Richardson, I will ask em if they still use the X band. That is weird that Richardson would use it, maybe trying to get the guys with X turned off :shock:
