Ka in NJ yesterday

i just came back from my final day of work in NJ yesterday and as soon as i got off of the turnpike's last toll toward NYC (the one with the express toll lane) i ran into a leo vehicle shooting Ka band. It said "Woodbridge" on the back of the trunk so it wasnt NJST but nonetheless he was running Ka band.

As i was following him there was a NJST with someone pulled over shooting X band.

careful in NJ fellas, they use everything! X,K,Ka and Laser!!! :shock:

Many local communities in NJ have Ka or K. Stateys are primarily X and laser.

But seriously, why in the world should the state waste money on upgrading to K or Ka-band before their current equipment reaches EoL? K55's are still available, and if their current equipment works... try explaining that to anyone w/common sense why we should drop $100,000's on equipment that does the same thing the current equipment does?

We are talking about speeding here... not state-of-the-art equipment needed to combat terrorism, gangs, or drug dealers.

Right. Replace (or should I say "upgrade") as required... but it would be pointless to replace functional K55's just for the sake of change.

I work close to Woodbridge and yes they do use KA and they run it in instant on and moving constant but i have only had a few encounters in two years. They do hit you from behind, so is hard to spot them but then again if they shoot someone ahead of you then you good to go otherwise consider yourself done one thing i must say is they are probably the worst Local cops in NJ i mean they have a nasty attitude. Just what people that live there say not me so take it from where it comes.

I'm glad I don't live in NJ (not because its isn't a nice place to live, but because they use everything)

California uses K, Ka, Laser so yay for me lol

It's a pain in the @ss having to figure out what x-band signals are falses and what is a real threat.
