I saw ENRADD in use today along Rt 30 and Rt 462 in Lancaster PA. A local cop in a gold unmarked Impala pretended to have broken down, the hood of the car was up along Rt 30 and the cop was sitting inside. The ENRADD sensors were right next to his car, so as soon as I spotted the sensors I slowed down. When I got of at the next exit, about .25 miles away, a cop had two cars pulled over. The cops can be tricky, but from reading on this site, I knew what it was right away .

    Oooo that's sort of scary.

I hope other states don't start using it.

As of now only 2 so far have been reported. I doubt others will.

Other states are allowed to use radar, laser and air to ground vascar along with pacing.

I rather that they use that than instant on moving radar! Those sensors may be a little hard to see after dark. But fortunately I don't drive as fast after dark.

Damn! I wish Indiana wouldn't let the local cops here use radar!

How long do suppose it will be until they let the local cops use radar? I would be surprised if the insurance lobby in PA was not already working on that LOL!

    Default ENRADD in PA

I was informed by somebody that has connections with the Annville Township Police (Annville is near lancaster) that they have at least one ENRADD unit.

They usually just use VASCAR with white lines though cause apparently ENRADD is a pain to set up.

The good thing with ENRADD is it looks like they have to set up tripods right next to the road and will therefore be visable. Usually when I see ANY car parked along side of the road I slow down for both safety and ticket-prevention purposes. So ENRADD doesn't look like that big of a threat.

Carlisle, PA (25 miles south of Harrisburg) got one in October. I live near there, haven't seen it used yet.

About 2 years ago I saw an ENRADD trap in Red Lion, PA (10 miles south of York.) It was on a street in town that had parallel parking on both sides, the sensors were setup between normally parked cars. You could NOT see them until it was too late. OTOH anyone speeding in that situation (PSL 30MPH) deserves a citation because (required by state law) one cannot be issued for less than 10 over when an electronic device is used by local PDs.

    :?

OK, trying to find out / read about ENRADD system. Anyone have the link they can pm me to the company site? Or do you happen to know the wireless system they use from the tripods to the control counter? If it's a wireless free freq, could get a warning of it etc.

    Thank you

In the post about the 10 over using an electronic device, is that only for VASCAR and ENRADD correct, or does that include radar?

    Thanks
    Michael
