Travelling back to Calgary from Vancouver on Monday, I first got a Ka band signal. Slowed down. I don't think anyone was around me who might have had a cobra. It lasted a few seconds, leading me to suspect it was a legit radar signal.
Anywho, over the rise I go, and as I begin descending a long slope, the Ka signal was gone but I got pegged by Laser. I'd estimate he was a quarter to half mile away when he hit me (is that even possible?). He was under an overpass, on the median side. Sneaky fellow.
Maybe the long distance shot, my laserVeil, and my Bel would have conspired to save me from a ticket, had I (still) been speeding, but it was this mysterious Ka signal that got me down to the speed limit.
A save is a save. While I'd like to understand how to account for this one, the sweet sounding bottom line is I don't have a fine to pay, and without protection, I'm sure he'd have had me.
