Default Houston TX brand new unmarked Impala

The things I do for my fellow Texas speeders.

I saw this brand new unmarked Impala in traffic and decided to chase it down to ID the department driving it. It was a uniformed officer but I couldn't tell if it was a Precinct 5 Constable or a Harris County Sheriff's deputy. It also didn't appear to have radar installed but I couldn't tell for sure. The windows weren't tinted yet and it still had the paper tag so he may have been taking it to get finished up.

One thing he did do was give me a hard look while I was giving him the hard look.

They probably got that car just so that eventually they can nail you.

They need to get more creative than that.
I think this barely qualifies as unmarked. white car with a spotter, push bar and steelies.

They got them in Greensboro back in January and they are hard to spot. That type of car just doesnt stand out. Ours dont have push bars, only dark tinted windows.
They also use them off the highways in residential areas which makes it really suck.

    No doubt

It's getting to the point that Erick could start his own web page chronicling the daily activities of his local peace officers. He's certainly got enough material

    Any antennae yet?

Push bars look gay on the Impala, but they sure improve handling by adding weight over the front end. Almost tempted to get one just for that.

I dont know why they even call them Impalas now. They made the REAL Impalas in 1967.

No antennas on this one, but it did look exactly like yours except no limo tint.

The 8.1 gen impala was "allegedly" the first purpose built police car. It replaced the Lumina in 2000 and they resurrected the "impala" name to get the car some street buzz. Although a 240hp supercharged L67 V6 was offered in 04 the car wasn't able to create the buzz of the Caprice based Impala SS of the mid 90s. Still, it's actually a very good FWD performer and has proven reliable and versatile even if it's not the most exciting car to wear the Impala nameplate.

LOL! You should write for a car magazine, Eric! That sounded like a professional writer's review!
