Saw 2 unmark Chargers on I-95 at West Palm beach. One is silver and the other is white. Both use front/rear KA I/O, C/O. I see them weekly patroling I-95 Palm Beach Gardens to Ft Lauderdale. Been hit with laser atlanta a few times on I95 near Baca Raton by county cops. I never been hit by laser with FHP in 50,000 miles traveling anywhere to miami and up to orlando and jacksonville.

Keep in mind that DC/MD/VA are all RD no-no states. Take it down and put it in the trunk or other similar "I couldn't possibly have only stashed it there just now when I saw your lights, officer" sort of place. When driving my new car back down from NJ, I was rather surprised that there wasn't some big, bright sign at the border letting me know when I was crossing into a RD prohibited area. I just assumed I hadn't yet entered the naughty zone (my DC familiarity is nil) since I hadn't seen any signs, but a kind man in a Corvette convertible made some pretty clear gestures that I ought to take it down ASAP. I later realized that I was almost through DC at that point.

I generally feel like there are fewer FHP on the Turnpike than on 95, so if that's an option for you, you may want to consider that. It's also less crowded (it does cost money) and there are easy off, easy on gas/food/etc. rest stops every 40 miles or so.

Depending on how far you're heading down, Dade County is a free-for-all. Feel free to fully enjoy your time on our roads. Never stop for a yellow without checking your rearview, and always look both ways if you're the first person to go on a new green light.

So, is the recommendation to remove the detector once in VA? Is that the best recommendation for Pilatti?

My fault. I thought it was basically everything associated with the DC area.

Dude... just leave it plugged in and out of sight. You will still pick up most signals with sufficient warning. Shoot, we had ours on the lower corner of the windshield the whole time doing 90mph (2 years ago) in VA and DC, coming from NC.

WPB FHP is adding laser to their arsenal now. Be careful.
