Default Driving to florida - what to expect??

I will be driving from CT to FL basically entirely on I-95. What can expect along the way as far as radar/laser LEO's? I do drive a Mustang so I know right off the bat I am a target. I use the V1 so hopefuly that should help but any advise as what to expect would be reatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Warning: It's bike week - cops are out in force right now, they want nothing more than to send our vistors home with a souvenir . I got hit by Ka every 2 miles on the way into work this morning (I-4, not I-95).

Most cops use Ka band, with a few K band mixed in. LIDAR is very rare, you may see it in cities but I don't think I've ever encountered it on the highway (at least not where I live). FHP like to use I/O a lot so be careful.

    Have fun!

At least around here, I have seen FHP using Laser Atlantas, so they do use laser. Not so sure about I-95, but it's probably mostly Ka. Not sure if they use airplanes out on 95 either.

Also, beware of the "Speed-enhanced-penalty" zones (not sure that's their name.) They're stretches of I-95 where speeding fines about like 50 dollars more.

Which side of Orlando are you on? I live to the east and I don't think I've ever seen it. Just curious

I-95? Good Luck! I know down in Dade county it is some aggressive driving. I'm sure Orlando it's pretty similar.

Radar wise...FHP loves their I/O and Laser. The V1 should pick up some scatter if a car in front of you is getting shot. Be careful around overpasses. They hide behind them and sometimes on top of them. A LEO will be on to of the overpass shooting laser down and radio to the LEO's below which ones to nab.

    Just some basic tips:

    1) Drive safe/smart
    2) Stay with the flow of traffic (use a rabbit)
    3) Keep your eyes peeled for LEO's (Especially around overpasses and large medians with no railguards)
    4) Enjoy yourself

East side I've seen it use on 417 by FHP. Also, Tru Speed has been seen used by FHP, by fellow member Cbr. Don't remember what road he said, though. Ovideo loves their laser, too

Yea, be weary of overpasses. They love to sit either in the shade, or off to the side, as seen on Speeders.

I know on I-75 the FHP has a lot of nice hiding spots in medians with a lot of brush/trees.

You can't see them until you are right on top of them. So if you don't have a rabbit, stay <10 over until you are in the clear, and can see.

FHP likes to sit in the median about 1-2 miles after you enter the state on I95. Last time I saw them there (2 years ago) they were shooting laser.

Your main encounters will be with I/O Ka.

FHP loves bushes/trees on the side of roads and run I/O a lot when doing so.
