Default Houston area X use band on video

I know very little about posting videos so I am learning as I go. Not sure why the sound was not working. I do not have a camera system in my truck to I pulled out the Cannon digital camera & switched to movie mode. I moved my V1 down from it's hardwaire mount & grabbed the coily cord out of the glove box so I could get the band on video. Made 2 passes filming both the V1 & the Harris County Precinct 3 patrol car with his X band gun on. Had to make the circle drive to get pass him twice.

I have passed this guy in Baytown on IH-10 & on Sheldon Road in Channelview the last few months. No video of those encounters.

There is a Harris County P3 unit that is assigned to Liberty County but he does not run a radar unit. Used to have a Ka unit but he gave it up when he upgraded to a new car with no radar. One of the school districts contracts HCP3 for their patrols. Common in Texas. HCP3 is contracted to patrol the hood I live in. Nice having a full time deputy patroling da hood & they NEVER run IO.

That's not the same unit I picked up last year. But it doesn't matter. Although you should keep X band on auto mute don't get carried away with it. I've only encountered it in Houston Precinct Constables older vehicles. I've never seen it shot in any creative manner. It's almost like the older rigs leave it on CO because they don't have anything better to do.

FYI: The P7 constable I found with the MPH Xband unit running in his car two years ago was a baliff. I'm sure he ran it for fun, nothing serious.

I got one on video too today...

On I-10 eastbound at the 610 junction by Memorial park... it was a Spring Branch ISD patrol car of all things.

(Sorry about the crappy video, the only thing I had was my blackberry bold)

Great video. Still have not caught up with the P3 officer to ask him why he is running X. Been wanting to catch him at a local donut shop.
