I thought it was July 1 of this year. That's typically when the new laws passed by the current legislative session take effect.

Truck drivers call 285 the "Watermelon 500"

Whatever they call it, they need to get their lazy butts out of the middle of the road and into the right hand lanes. Fortunately I'm in the process of removing myself from that cesspool of a city, but I knew it was just going to make things worse when they gave truckers that extra lane on the top end some 7-8 years ago. Previously they had just been confined to the right two lanes.

Look out for the new GSP slick top chargers.I'm seeing more of them popping up on the highways.They have some killer front pushbars on em.They look like they belong on a 2500hd truck.

Im sure you've already made your trip. This is more public information than anything. I am from milledgeville. If you are in the city limits in milledgeville, you are most likely in the jurisdiction of 4 different traffic enforcement divisions. City police, Sheriffs, GSP (all around milly), and GCSU cops which are unfortunately given the same ticket writing priveleges as the city cops. (although much easier to talk them out of a ticket )

As far as Xband goes. I havent seen it in a while. They have upgraded most of their vehicles and equipment in the last 3 years or so. I hardly ever see any cruisers more than a year or two old.

Final note, Be wary of 441 especially approaching milledgeville from the North. Its a death trap for speeders and the GSP's love to sit out with laser.
