Are RD's illegal to use if mounted on the windshield? I work with someone who insisted he got pulled over for speeding and was ticketed for having one attached and speeding.I looked but haven't found anything.

They are legal here and I don't know of any laws saying you can't have anything on your windshield. I'm pretty sure there are none.
One of my friends was actually pulled of recently because the cop thought his cobra was a radar jammer (which are illegal and hard to find). I guess the cop's signal was getting blocked some how and he thought he had a jammer. Once he showed him that it was just a radar detector he let him go.

Yes they are legal in MI.
