I got slammed with a ticket Friday night while driving into Midtown for dinner at Gordon Biersch on Perimter in ATL.
Those familiar with the area know this is prime ATL midtown, 4 to 6 lanes of traffic. Usually the only enforcement out in this area is laser.
I was crusing 70-80 in a 55. Going with the flow of traffic, really. Everyone drives at least 70.
I was in the second or third to right lane at all times -- never in the 2-3 far left lanes.
I didn't pass him, and he didn't get on behind me. He must have crept up behind me somehow, spotted the car (it's a ticket magnet) and paced it.
He pulled me over and said he got me between 70 and 75 in a 55.
He wrote the ticket for 65 in a 55.
I'm not complaining, I got fried. I just thought it was funny that out of all the possible cars he could have paced, he picks the one that has probably spent more than anyone else aroudn him to avoid that very situation.
HEADS UP ATL DRIVERS --- THEY are PACING in high traffic.
I got pulled over at exit 91...
Only needed to get to 86
