My dad is an attorney in Syracuse, and heavily deals with traffic tickets. (If anyone lives in the Syracuse area and remembers the incident in August 2007 when an idiot truck driver knocked out a walking bridge on I690 eastbound, he represented that guy.) On the tickets, it states what method of speed verification was used to issue the ticket. I'm thinking if it's possible, I could survey what was used to issue the ticket, where it was issued, and what dept. the LEO belonged to in order to come up with a list of what to expect in certain areas of upstate NY. I know theres a few members on here that might find that useful, but for all other purposes, I think it might be interesting to see what's being used. Privacy would be maintained in this review of the tickets. Only information taken is the location, date, and type of radar/laser/whatever used to issue the ticket.
I know some of us already know what the NY state troopers and other LEOs use, but looking at tickets could give some concrete information.
If it's a stupid idea, don't be harsh
