Default I-75 between Atlanta and Valdosta

Does anyone know what I should be looking out for on this route, speed traps, radar bands used, etc?

I would watch out for some LIDAR, K, and Ka band radar...

    Sorry, I just couldn't resist!

Around Atlanta, Lidar. Away from Atlanta, the state patrol has been running KA band almost exclusively from what I've seen, no K-band from them. They run a lot of stationary C/O, or maybe I/O that they leave on for a long time, and aren't particularly hard to detect, except for the fact they're really good at around the curve, over the hill setups. I came across one sitting in the median with the car buried up the tops of the fenders in weeds shooting cars coming over a small hill. With the catalytic converter, it looked like a fire hazard to me.

Away from Atlanta the locals still use some K-band, including I-O. I've seen a little Lidar from the locals out in the boonies, but it's almost all radar.

Good news is that the further south you get, the less hills you have.

Wow...that is some great information! Since I only venture outside of metro ATL a handful of times a year (on 4 tires that is...normally its in the sky) I don't get much more than LIDAR. But I will definitely file this in the memory bank and I'm glad to know that even the C/O or I/O is for the most part detectable.

I don't know Chariot...I've heard rumors of the new XYZ band being ran on that route!

My last trip through there was a few weeks ago and Valdosta was patrolled heavily.
I did not run into any laser (that I am aware of) outside of Atlanta.

Wow, this is great information. The only time I got better was about 12 years ago, a friend who was a truck driver actually wrote down a mile marker list (from memory) of all the traps between Atlanta and Orlando. His list was dead on, about 90% of them had active cops in the location. I'll take notes and will report when I get back. He knew every Interstate trap between Ft. Lauderdale and Virginia!

PM Rsatmans, he makes this run all the time. They seem to love rear I/O and laser in the area so be careful and watch out.

There's lidar there for sure, I've been hit several times from the overpasses, all front, but Rsatmans has had 3 or 4 rear shots in that area.

That is VERY handy to know. I'll be installing the 2 extra Blinder heads on the rear of the truck tomorrow! Will pm him as suggested.
