For those PA folks who remember on my last PA Turnpike trip my rabbit got nailed and I thought it was with Lidar since I got no radar warning and did get a Lidar warning.
Well I was on my yearly trip to Pittsburgh for the Holidays and the PSP were out in force saw them all over the place, but got very little hits on my V1. In 3 cases I saw the officer with customers, 2 of them they just pulled them over. In all 3 case I did not get any warning they were out in front of me like I normally would get. As we know it not unusually for the V1 to give you 1/2 to 1 mile warning of a radar source.
None of these patrol cars had the external mounted antennas, and it was really cool and windy so either they were using those low power I/O hand held units I have seen in the past or they were using something else and shooting through the window.
Here is the latest bulletin and it does not show any Lidar units so nothing have been approved in PA as of Dec. But they maybe out testing and giving warnings.
