GSP Shooting Rear Laser on I-85

Spotted while traveling on I-85 North just outside of Newnan.

GSP was sitting at the end of a concrete median which runs for several miles.

Her vehicle was positioned so that it was facing my direction of travel head on. I crested a hill at [PSL + a lot] and was staring right at her. I braked hard but never heard a peep from V1/LI.

Now cruising at PSL, I look right at her as I pass (only the guilty avoid eye contact!) She's shooting a PL3 through the windshield of her car at the rear end of traffic headed in the opposite direction. Her trap put her in position to easily target the left most lane, while eliminating the brake light warnings motorists normally receive during head-on encounters. Crafty

Thats scary, I am going to be living in the Cumming/Lake Lanier area. I will probably take the 400 to work in Alpharetta, have you seen alot of laser in the northern part of ATL like on the 285, 400, and 75. I hope my two Blinder heads in the back will be enough to save me.

There's always absurd amounts of speed traps on I-85. In Virginia and North Carolina the state police love being sneaky bastards on this road because the PSL is 70 and if you go 10 over it's reckless driving in both states with serious fines and license suspension. Real dumb.

Can't help you on 400, I don't drive it much. I can tell you that its been my observation that every local municipality sees 285 as their local revenue basin, so you never know what you might run across.

I also don't know much about 75 north, but on the south side of town, Henry county had plenty of hiding spots in the median, and lots of budget shortfalls.

400 is a laser shooting gallery!!! All of the Atlanta metro area is laser, but most is front. Never been shot in the rear in the metro area, all have been out on the Interstate after you get a bit out of ATL. They love to sit on the overpasses and shoot them coming and going.

the area around newnan is under construction right now and is being patrolled heavily because of several bad accidents shutting the interstate down. 2 lanes open, concrete borders right on the lines make for dangerous driving conditions. gsp and county sit right at the end of walls and shoot as you pass all the time. hopefully they'll finish the road soon and all will be good.
