Laser Anomaly at Tampa, FL

I've spent a few days in Tampa, FL so far.

For the third time in two days, my LIs picked up a laser alert whenever I approach the junction of 'W Kennedy Blvd' and 'Henderson Blvd'. Whenever it does, it mutters something that sounds suspiciously (on hindsight) like WTVT.

Could the Fox13/WTVT station nearby have anything to do with it? My Bel RX65 also goes off continuously from laser.

Anyone else in Tampa with LIs that could verify this?

This is NOT an anomaly. I also receive LIDAR Alerts at this exact location. This is the Laser based, Wind Shear Detection System emanating from the sophisticated WTVT SkyTower Omni RADAR tower.

Hopefully your LI's jammed it.

Also if you drive on the west side of the airport (along the veteran's expressway) , you will get a nearly constant laser alert on your radar detector (never the LI though)

I live in Tampa and work down town, I also get the same thing on my LI's.

That makes sense. I've been trying this evening to get it on video, but failed. Any idea what the LIs would say? Sounded like a three-syllable word. Like "a-L-o-L".
