East Coast SUCKS! How do you drive there?

Back in California today after 2 weeks driving through 13 states along the East Coast and wondering how the hell you guys on the East Coast stay out of trouble??? First off, your speed limits are about 10 to 20 MPH lower than comparable roads in California. Second, there are unmarked cop cars all over the place. I saw a number of people pulled over by every imaginable type of car and SUV with only lights hidden behind the grill and strobe lights hidden inside the brake and backup lights. There is no way to spot them on the freeway if you are driving quick and closing in on the rear of one of them.

I took my 9500ix with me which kept me out of trouble mainly going through little towns with 20 MPH PSL but I really drove on the highways much closer to the PSL than here in CA.

It was annoying driving through so many open highways in the middle of nowhere where the PSL was 50 or 55 and everyone was driving 50 or 55!

We use countermeasures, but if you're in the northeast there's so much @#$%!@!! traffic that it's difficult to speed whether you want to or not.

What countermeasures do you have to unmarked cop cars everywhere?

On the plus side, the area really is beautiful so going slow was not that bad for us given we were on vacation and in no rush to get anywere. But to drive daily from point A to point B quickly seems like a dangerous thing with unmarked traffic cops.

What states did you drive through? NH doesn't have a lot of unmarkeds, at least not in the stretches I drive everyday.

Were the unmarkeds you encountered running any radar? They could have been out looking for other things like seatbelts or expired stickers.

Use your eyes, they have the same types of unmarked vehicles for a particular area usually.

it's just a matter of getting to know what they use.

eyes and rearview mirror is all you need.mostly the major highways are very heavy patroled

Yea where did you drive on the east coast, I'm guessing Hellginia and North Carolina. Way over patrolled and underposted PSL. Eyes and RVM are your best friend. Of course you will always see people pulled over, there's a lot of retards who deserve tickets.

Does not mean you won't run across one that will stop you if you are doing something stupid, but traffic enforcement vehicles must be marked and you do not have to pull over for one if it does not have lights on top of the vehicle.
