I have only seen one time where the PSP shoots off the side mirror. I assume it was IO?
If I'm not mistaken I think there are a few more threads about PSP doing this.
Idk how they think that will hold up in court...
I didn't have my RD with me because the locals can't use radar, and it is very rare for PSP to be patrolling local roads. I will be using my RD now on local roads.
Not uncommon honestly. I've heard of them all over the place in PA running speed traps..
So you don't know if the LEO was actually using radar?
I just across the turnpike from Ohio and only saw two cars hiding behind bridges hitting traffic as it approached with K-band.
I've been living and driving in PA since 1972 and I can only recall 4 times that I have seen a PSP shooting radar on a local road. However 3 of those times have all been within the past 1 1/2 years. I now run my detector anytime I am rolling.
More then a couple of times on 476 they tuck themselves up against a guardrail and shoot at their sideveiw mirror. It helps them out bc they have your speed before you even spot their cruiser.
And even though I travle mostly side roads and city streets my V1 is always on. Being that PSP could set-up shop anywhere.
I'll be 476 tomorrow midday and will give a full report if anything unusual.
The LEO was probably using a tuning fork.
