Radar Guns in Missouri

Does anyone know what brand/frequency of radar gun is most prevelant in the St. Louis, Missouri area and what brand/frequency is used by the Missouri State Highway Patrol?

I'm trying to determine which gun I need to worry about most. The GOL test has brought this to my attention.

X band isnt used in St Louis.... i drove around with x band enabled for a long time, and havent seen it.

st louis county uses k and ka, mostly ka.

MSHP uses KA and Air to Ground, They have also accquired Laser but have not seen it used as of yet!

Stalker Dual SL is what a cop just told me Riverside uses. But he also mentioned that officers have the option to check out handheld Lidar and handheld radar.

I go all around st. louis and I've never encountered a true positive on the x band. Seems to be all K and Ka, however I've hit 3 lasers since getting my detector in december. I think 2 of those were in south county.

I've gotten tickets on chesterfield parkway (do not speed there in the morning, I see a cop there every morning) and up in Bel Nor.

Kansas City. Sorry if that hijacked the thread.

You might also be interested to know what else is happening on this side of the state. They are pushing for red light cameras. The local news just had report on it a few nights ago.

Oh, and I don't have a detector...yet. But before you laugh at me understand that I've not had one for a reason. For the cop to see me, I have to be able to see the cop. If I have no detector to rely on, I am forced to use my vision for ALL of my radar defense. That makes me look further down the road and to be more observant.

That seems to work fine until I work nearly 12 hours overnight and am driving home tired into the morning sun. I also run into trouble if I'm just cruising down the road listening to the radio. That's why I had to go to traffic court tonight.

When I would drive through St. Louis to and from Rolla, Mo to Chicago, I would see mostly leos with K, some with Ka, and closer to the city leos would use laser on the overpasses on I-44. Watch out for the Bouron, MO speed trap on I-44!
