Default PA - Best RD for K and Ka bands in PA?

I'm in PA and I run both east/west and NE extension of the PA turnpike. I believe the PSP are only running K and Ka so far (I heard about them testing laser in Harrisburg, don't think that its spread). Assuming that assumption is correct (and please correct me if I'm wrong!), what would be the best RD for me to get for those bands?

I've been thinking Redline or V1, but I'd accept a $150-200 suggestion if it would do the same job. I drive a cop magnet so I need all the advance warning I can get!

I heard so much about the Redline being awesome on K-band. Only ever came into Ka from PSP one time in my 8 yrs of driving with an RD. But my V1 has saved me from a ton of tickets. Both are excellent but the Redline would be my pick for Pa.

And as far as laser is concerned don't worry about it yet when you are in Pa.

I don't believe that laser can be used to issue citations in PA. If it's being used, it's only on a trial basis.

I hear that they have low-powered Falcon HR guns, which can be hard to detect, so I'd go Redline or V1 at the very least. In my experience, they are close on K band (with Redline having an edge on off-axis signals), and the Redline typically beats the V1 on Ka.

If you want the absolute best of the best, get a Bel STi-R+. It'll cost quite a bit more, but set up properly it'll sniff out Ka even better than a Redline.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

Active Countermeasures: V1 3.858, Escort Redline, Beltronics STi-R+, LI Dual 7.1x CPU/8.7 Heads (front)

I remember reading last year that PSP was doing some testing of laser...I think it was on a forum.

Yeah, rumors about laser. But as of now K-band is most serious threat in Pa.

That was Pittsburgh cops "testing" out laser and illegally gave out tickets, they were all thrown out.

That's right, they 'misunderstood' their instructions and were writing tickets until they were caught. Anyway, I'm leaning towards the V1 due to its arrows. I've been watching youtube videos and from the amateur testing that i've seen, it looks like they are pretty close (if not identical) in capability. Almost every piece of 'pro' testing that I've read is open for bias and generally aren't trustworthy sources in my book since they all have ties to mfg'rs and it shows in their reviews...

Anyone else from PA want to chime in with their suggestions? Thanks in advance for the (hopefully constructive) feedback!

My V1 has held up very well in PA. Just check out my Youtube channel. I would take a V1 over a Redline any day.

    V1: Pros

-Very sensitive to I/O and Q/T
    -Bogey counter
    -Arrows
    -Lightweight
    -Good speaker
    -Superb X,K,Ka 33.8,Ka 34.7 sensitivity
    -Excellent ramp-up

    V1: Cons

-Terrible Ka 35.5 sensitivity (not an issue in PA)
-Off-axis sensitivity could be better (all bands)
-Detectable by the Spectre (if you ever drive through VA or Canada)

    Redline: Pros

    -Great off-axis sensitivity (all bands)
-Great Ka 35.5 sensitivty (again, not an issue in PA)
-Undetectable by the spectre (if you ever drive through VA or Canada)
-Superb sensitivity on all bands (except Q/T)

    Redline: Cons

    -Heavy
    -Speakers are known to fail
-No bogey counter for multiple signals (although it will still tell you if multiple signals are being detected, but that's only helpful if they aren't more than 2)
    -TERRIBLE Q/T sensitivity
    -TERRIBLE Ka ramp-up
