NCHP Budget Cuts Hurting

One state lawmaker says the Highway Patrol is in need of more funding.
State Representative Bill Faison of Orange County says budget cuts have been so hard on the patrol that it can no longer afford uniforms for troopers. Faison says the Highway Patrol needs just over $1 million to replace shoes and pants for its troopers. He suggests a .7% sales tax increase to raise the money needed. He says the revenue could also create more jobs.
