Definitely sounds like airplane speed enforcement more than anything else though...
The lines were way less than 3/10 mile apart, plus that section of 222 is the one rebuilt a few years ago from 3 lane at grade roadway to 4 lane divided highway. It is too curvy and hilly for effective aerial enforcement.
My experience with aerial speed enforcement in PA is when they decide to spend the money to run a plane over a section of road, they have at least 3 or 4 officers available to handle "customers" so that the plane's time isn't wasted when they are busy. Definitely only one Trooper in this instance.
Not even sure that PSP does any traffic work from the air anymore, I think there was an article someone posted recently in this forum stating how most states (except Ohio and FL) are scaling way back on use of aircraft for anything other than essential use (major crimes, chases, missing persons, etc.) due to cost. PSP are having budgetary issues, even considering consolidating to regional barracks serving multiple counties rather than having at least one barracks per county like they do now.
There is also one other possibility I'm at pains to consider. My V1 (purchased 2005) has never been in for a tuneup and may be suffering in K band sensitivity. He may have simply been using a Falcon HR and I never got the message.
