"new?" laser gun being used in Toronto

I've seen the Toronto local cops using LTI 20/20's for many years now. However, on Sunday afternoon, I saw two cruisers parked in a favorite spot (Eglinton Ave westbound at Leslie, near the Celestica HQ campus) and one of the cops was holding a different model (at least to me!)

The unit was cordless, black with a blue stripe running from front to back.

Anyone know what unit this might be, and does it pose any greater threat than the LTI 20/20?

Black w/blue stripe? LTI Ultralyte. A successor to the 20/20.
