Let me start by saying I hope I am in the right forum. I guess this would be a speed trap concern??
What is the deal with all the mounted radars on Interstate 95 in North Carolina? I have noticed there are radars mounted on overpasses, lamp posts, etc... They give about 5 sec bursts of radar and there are about 15-30 sec between the bursts. I haven't seen any cameras on these radars, so I don't think it is photo radar enforcement.
One guess is that the state put them up to slow people with radar detectors down. The other is maybe the state police are using this to make North Carolina drivers used to thier radar detectors going off, and as a result them not slowing down when the trooper up the road clocks them with his radar. Just a few guesses.
Anyway, I was just curious if anyone knew the scoop on these radars, and what they are there for.
