This weekend I was driving through Glen Rock NJ and noticed a lot of police activity, several cop cars cruising around.
Suddenly, an unmarked beige crown vic drive past me and parked right in front of me. I was parked on a quiet side street. The cop got out of the vehicle and walked past with a Stalker in his hand.
He positioned himself standing in someone's driveway, hidden from traffic in either direction by the large stone walls on either side of the driveway. He just poked his head out everytime he heard a car and checked the speed, and radioed to his two partners in other vehicles who would pounce on the speeders. These are quiet roads with 25mph limits in an affluent town.
I couldn't believe the volume of the high-pitched sound the Stalker makes. I asked the cop if he used laser much, he said it was too difficult for him to conceal his patrol car using laser, that he uses the handheld on foot for much better traps.
My Bel RX65 was picking the Ka signal up in Autoscan, the Stalker was pointing in a perpendicular direction to my car, behind me by about 50 yards.
