Updated/corrected information from my good neighbor, BlakOnBlackCobra96.

This is the correction to the Shaker Heights Warrensville/S.Woodland trap he posted on Friday, Nov. 30, 2007:

Quote:
I was on S.Woodland going east and the cop was east of Warrensville Center Road, parked in someone's driveway. I believe that there was a crest and the officer was using instant on Ka, as my V1 gave no warning.

Also on I-480 west of the airport (North Olmstead, etc.) has many laser traps where the officers hide in shadows underneath bridges and over hillcrests. East of the airport, enforcement is sparse.

I can second on the North Olmsted speed traps, it is the tale of two cities - Fairview Park and North Olmsted . As you go under the Grayton Underpass (going I480 West) you have close to 1/10 mile roughly before you hit a bend - you make the turn and guess who is painting you from the median. Your best defense is get close to the shoulder and go PSL.

Also, they do run it a little different sometime. As you go under Grayton UndPass going West again, look up in the field past the Hilton Garden Hotel on Grayton-t here will be a marked car calling ahead to another unit as he paints you or alerts his buddy to paint you.

My advice, just shut it down through North Olmsted because they also run laser on the Eastbound lane. They will swap sides numerous times of day, morning commute and afterwork commute.

On 480, you are pretty save from Tiedeman all the way out to Grayton.

I'm new here, but my job is to unlock the westside of Cleveland for the East-Siders.

I drive thru Parma alot, I've picked up Ka constant from Parma marked card. Parma has new Chevys, Impalas and Tahoes. The still roll some Vics.

My first run in was turning from Ridge Road onto Pearl (Mr. Chicken is at the corner) going South. I got some small X and K clatter from the Walgreens and Rite Aid at the intersection and then Ka blew up!!! I looked down Pearl and he was sitting facing South picking off people going North toward the Ridge Intersection because PSL changes from 35 to 25 very quick past Snow Rd. There are some dips in Pearl, this is a great location to pick people off. His location was a little bit down from the Blue Moose.

25 signs are post on both Ridge and Pearl coming from i480, just be careful, sometimes a Bike picks people off in the summer right after you get past Brookpark.

PARMA needs the $$$$, take a look at their streets. haha

Use caution.
the state leo's got a tan tahoe that they use not that is almost completely unmarked except for the visuals (brush guard, low-pro light rack, tinted windows) and is dang near impossible to spot in a pack of cars. to bad he runs around with c/o k blairing to alert everyone who he is

^ Ah, sorry! ops:

What I meant by this enforcer "having a conscience" is that he knew how difficult-to-spot his vehicle happens to be, and decided to give people fair-warning.

Either that, or he decided, rightfully, that the best way to actually slow traffic through the area he's enforcing is to make the trap as "known" as possible - that way, at least all those with a detector would slow.

This is actually what I think enforcers should do, to TRULY curb traffic incidents, in such high-risk areas - i.e. post a well-visible, marked, high-profile enforcement vehicle, at, say, a school-zone, so that people will easily see the enforcer, and thus actually slow.

I feel that it's no good that the enforcer goes after the speeder, through said school-zone, in an "after the fact" fashion (i.e. what if that same speeder, while blasting through the well-hidden trap, manages to clip a kid? what if the ensuing chase, no matter how short, did the same?). It's better to proactively slow traffic, as a TRUE safety measure.

This is why I'm so against "speed traps." I feel that they're nothing more than revenue generators. This is why I work to label as many of them as I come across.

However, for actual "public safety" (i.e. marked enforcement cars positioned at school-zones, etc.), I actually choose, myself, not to list them. I know that this is a personal-judgement call, but I truly think that this kind of monitoring is necessary for everyone's safety (especially the innocents), and that this does not constitute a "trap."
