It is getting cold in PA...
So the PSP have seem to have temporary halted their use of hand held instant on radar guns (Genesis Handheld Stationary) for the time being, now that is colder. I saw MANY PSP shooting constant on (yes constant) with the window mounted Falcon units on the Turnpike. Any one know if the Falcon can be used in instant on mode?

yeah i have seen it from time to time, depend on their mood mostly, some time it just screaming away at you to be picked up miles away and other times you come into ther sight and bam you just be I/O

Re: It is getting cold in PA...
Does anyone know what radar guns the PSP most commonly use.I have seen the list of radar guns they use, and Ive seen them use instant on with some kind of gun then when i came back around again it was constant on. But don't know if it was the same radar device.
Is it still that Genesis hand held gun?

The PSP use Kustom Falcon (handheld K-band), Kustom KR-10/KR-SP/HAWK (two-piece K-band, antenna mounted to side window on exterior of cruiser), and Decatur Genesis (handheld K-band). All guns can be constant on or instant on. KA guns are approved, but hardly seen. Laser is not yet approved and X is dead.

Yes this is true. Most of the troopers are now using the mounted units instead of the handheld.
Most of the Ka guns are used in the Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Lehigh, Northampton counties, and they also use K band at the same time in the oppsite direction.
In Southeast Pa, most traffic enforcement occurrs during daytime (speed enforcement) as PSP has to cover the local smaller departments that "go out of service" for the night. But watch out on I-95, I-76, 495 & parts of 422 & 202 & Rte 1 as these are the most heavily patrolled by PSP.

Troops K, M, and T are those with KA, according to your description.
I can confirm Route 1 and Route 202: In the Concordville - Kennett Square area, up to Exton, the PSP love to run this area at night. I haven't seen them running radar around since I've gotten my detector, but I have seen 5+ at night in about two weeks of regular driving past 11:00. I have yet to see any PSP using anything other than selective IO K band. RD users from out of state beware, as the PSP love using selective IO. This, combined with their high tolerances for speed (I've gotten away with 12-13+ over PSL several times on 1, 202, 76, and 15 over PSL on 95 going to Philly) makes IO extra dangerous.
I'll update if I find out anything else when I get home for the summer.
