    Default Help with X50 mounting on Ninja

    I have a Ninja 500 and am trying to find the best way to mount my X50. I dont want to hardwire it because I use it for my car too. Im a newbie on this so explaining as best as you can how do I tap in to power it up?

    didn't your x50 come with two power sources. for the bike, you may need to hardwire the connectors (doesn't necessarily mean the radar cannot be taken off the bike and placed in the card). use the coiled cord in the car.

    i don't know of any other way to power from your bike unless you have or install a 12v outlet. hardwire hardware is cheap; $10 on ebay.

    Hell....... you can hardwire with a phone cord. The simplest way is to attach it to your battery. It does unplug from the cord mate

    You also need to think about a mount which are not necessarily cheap

    Got a question about the Direct Wire Cord for $10 on Escorts website. The phone line connecter plugs into the detector and the two other wires you hook up to the battery terminal directly is that how that works?

    Yes or you could tap into another circuit and ground but to the battery is foolproof well 50 / 50

    I went straight to the battery on my CBR929. Bought the wire kit from eBay. Works great!

    Alright thx im going to order the direct wire cord from Escort and the mount from Techmounts.

    that's what i got, a techmount for my x50. works great. i actually had to email them back and forth and send pictures to get the right mount.
