Highway or Auto function?

I'm a newbie here. Just got a 8500 X50. Use it between my two bikes and car. What function do you guys use? Thanks!

I personally use HWY ALL the time. I am not worried about X on my daily route so that is turned off, no falses on X. City and Auto only affect X band so its up to you. If your route does not have LEO's shooting X and you are going to turn it off, I would leave it in HWY.

Thanks for the answer. Since I'm a newbie, I'm not sure if the local LEO's use X band. Seems to only be door openers. Everytime I've been alerted and it was an officer, it was on ka band. I appreciate you more experienced users advice. Thanks again.

Where are you located? Maybe some folks from the board know the area and can fill you in on bands, traps, etc...

Try to leave it on Highway mode and switch between Highway and City when there is falses. You should keep X band On until you really know if they arent using it. It seems thats they always keep and X band unit around to catch RD users. :wink:
