    Default waterproof detector?

I like to ride in the rain. Is there a weather proof detector or method for hiding the detector from exposure to weather?

Ziploc is the only way I have seen people do it on motorcycles for waterproof electronics.

I know actually only one waterproof detector for motorbikes. It is BEL/Target 966RM but it's fit to European requirements only because it has detect Ku band instead of X and watches Ka Narrow band (34.3GHz) instead of Ka Superwide band. Its range of detection is excellent.
It is very similar to BEL 975 but absolutely waterproof. There isn't any audible warning but there is a separated, brightly flashing indicator light.
I'm using that on my car because here are a large number of automatic door openers on the K band and I don't like audible warnings but this LED informed me well and never disturb.

By the way, what is Ziploc?

Here's a pretty good way to protect it from the elements.

I use sandwich wrap. Use a blowdryer to have the wrap get tighter and less visible but BECAREFUL! The wrap doesnt take much heat and the detector doesnt need to be under it long. few secs.

Escort makes a model that is only available at Harley D. dealers. It is basically an 8500 in a waterproof case with HD logos on it. I looked at one and it is actually pretty nice looking. See link.
