    Default 9500ix on my Yamaha

I had originally bought my 9500ix for use on my bike, but because of technical difficulties in mounting it and hearing it, I haven't.

Now I'm thinking it's time to buy or fabricate some kind of mount so I can use it on the bike.

Anyone know of any good universal mounts that might work generically on a sportbike?

Single/Super-cup type mounts have always worked well for everyone I know... One big suction cup with either the Escort mount, or a large platform.

I used to use the standard mounts, then switched, and the large single-suctions were more effective.

Bar and or stem mounts also work if you can find one for your bike... though I prefer my RD NOT move as I turn the handles, so never been a fan of those.

I'm using the stem-mounted Techmount as well, which I've used on my 9500ix and redline. I used the search tool and found alot of info regarding hearing the RD. Pick the one that works best for you, but Sony makes a nice little wireless receiver/transmitter system that works well, just a little pricey depending on your budget. I've also used an earbud which I ran from my helmet, down my jacket and into an extension wire that was routed from the rd and under my tank and came out at the front of my seat. Hope that made sense? Anyway, it's very clean looking, but I'd recommend a good volume control to hear the alerts. I'll dig up photos. Hope this helps?

On my sport bikes i use the valentine one remote speaker & connect it to speakers that are in
my Arai helmets the SMALL speakers are part of my autocom intercom system...the speakers
fit nicely behind the foam and velor fabric covering at the ear cut outs.

On my full touring bikes I do the same thing but i set the balance of
the autocom aux input toward the front rider...this way my wife never hears
    the radar detector alerts.

I never have a problem hearing the ALERTS..i can EASILY hear the alerts even over top of
the shooters ear plugs when riding.

That V1 install looks so sick!!!!! If I had a bike I'd never even think of getting a V1 for it, but that mount is perfect.

give me function over FORM ANY DAY !

on my FULL-ON touring bikes i can hide the v1 (using a mirror mount hole) behind the windscreen. If it rains, i wrap
a ziploc sandwich bag over the detector.

even on my NAKED sport bikes ive NEVER had an issue (either w/ bugs or rain)...ive logged 10s of thousands of miles
on my bikes (even in virginia, where detectors are illegal)...ive NEVER been ticketed or "caught" with or using
    my Valentine One.

when i travel at TRIPLE digit speeds for 100s of miles, i expect THE earliest warning possible !

go w/ a smaller unit, sure, but expect LESS protection !
