    Default ZR4 on Ninja 650r

Just tested these using a tv remote. The front heads work great but the rear head doesn't respond. If there was something wrong with the rear connection, the display would indicate a rear connection error. So, I don't think it's the line. Anyone have any ideas? Could it be a bad photodiode? or is the rear license light interfering with IR sensitivity? I'm also using a Bel vector 995 as the zr4 display. Your guess is as good as mine.

Sometimes remotes are not a reliable way of setting off jammers... just sayin'.

try one of these, it'll be more effective of testing, not near as accurate as an actual gun, but better then a remote controller

never mind... I blew the controller module after shortening the front shifter cable while trying to fix the laser falsing @ 3000 rpm problem.

That sucks... and bikes are known to have big issues with noisy electrical systems, combine that with escorts known issues with laser falses on a noisy electrical system, and you need a good in-line filter...

Hope you can get it replaced, goodluck.

Thanks for feeling my pain. I bought it off ebay so no warranty. Luckily a family member is an engineer. There was a blown mosfet transistor in the control module and a blown capacitor in the front shifter. He replaced the capacitor with a slightly larger one and used a larger MOSFET transistor in the control module. The MOSFET was large enough to take 12volts through it.

    The shifters seem brighter.

    Before blowing the control module:

    After getting it fixed:

If you have any broken zr4 or zr3s, I'd like to have them to experiment on.
