    Default Sport Bike w escort 8500 x50

Ok so i have a 07 GSXR 600 and i have a 8500 and a 9500ix. I want to put the 8500 on the bike but my tint is nearly 5% on my sport bike wind screen. How much would that effect the RD?

    Thanks

Unless it is a metallic tint I do not think it will effect detection

    cool deal thanks,

On a side note i was looking at the Hot Wheels Radar Gun and noticed you had one. How well does that do on testing RDs?

I can get one for about $30-$40. Would it be worth it?

I have an 07 GSX-R 600, just picked it up this weekend actually. It has an aftermarket solid color windshield, with no transparency, it's actually solid black underneath. I've been racking my brain as to how I'm going to equip this thing with a RD, but need to figure something out shortly before summer months come, as LEO's are brutal around here and run CO all the time.

Any ideas? I may have to swap the windshield, but it looks so damn nice as is.

well, you could mount a dash rd behind the WS but solid curved plastic will affect performance. have you thought about the whistler 3600 remote?

Unless the paint is metallic, you should not have a problem at all detecting radar. You obviously will have no laser detection unless you go the route that Doc mentions.

The front of the windshield has a blue tint, however underneath its completely solid and will substantially reduce RD performance. I think the only option may be to swap the windshield with a tint, but transperancy. It's just too bad, as I love the windshield, it looks great on the bike. I'll take a pic later on today to share for any additional possible ideas.
