I completely agree with this statement. Same goes for those photo blur and plate covers. They don't work, friends of mine have received tickets with them.

yes, I am throwing the link up, as a matter of fact here it is....

as for it being a crappy product, I personally and professionally don't believe it to be a "crappy product" maybe the price might be a little high but this is what we have been required to set the price at by the manufacturer.

And, radarbusters will sell these from what it sounds like as well. Why? I just don't understand.
for radardetector.net being a site for enthusiast, well
    1) that has nothing to do with the products that radarbusters.com sells, they may have the same owner but they are two completely different sites.
    2) this forum is not just for the enthusiast it is for ANYONE who wants to learn about counter measures, this is not some special club where you have to own so and so detector or had to have been pulled over so many times or use this and that, no it is a site where ANY one can join and become a member regardless of their equipment i.e. RMR users or profession i.e. active LEO

Yes radarbusters.com will sell this product and will continue to sell Cobras why because radarbusters.com is owned and controlled by Hayneedle.com a Business and one of the main rules in business is you sell what people are buying and regardless of what we as enthusiast want Cobras sell and they are probably the highest purchased detector out there. As well advertising Cobras on radarbusters.com attracts potential customer to our site, and when they come to our site they see all the other detectors they start to research it the whole counter measure area a lot more and learn what is what.

For the photo blurs basically the same thing as the Cobras, radarbusters.com is a business we sell what people want, and there have been a constant amount of people who call in asking to buy these, not because they are trying to get around laser or radar but because they just don't want to get their photo taken of their license plate.

at this time we do not have any intention of ever selling RMR but you never know what the future could bring, should they one day come out with a product that blows the industry away then why not sell it?

Now please can we get back on topic, what do you all think about the TPX laser Jammer?
Please keep in mind that there is a section on the forum specific for radarbusters.com should you have suggestions or comments about the site, and I will be happy to answer your questions in that section.

Well, I doubt that this jammer is "crappy" because it's a repackaged Blinder and Blinders aren't crappy.

The big selling point of the TPX is that they made the components waterproof so they won't get destroyed in the rain when used on a motorcycle. Not just the heads, but the CPU, switch, LED, and buzzer pieces. Actually, I wonder if they did do any modifications to the heads because those should already be waterproof.

My only "thing" about it is it costs more than a M27 but only includes one head. Assuming they did buy up a bunch of M27s from Blinder to make these, what happened with the remaining heads? Maybe they special-ordered them with one head each? (essentially M17s)?

As for Radarbusters selling Cobras, when they take phone orders the sales reps can always try to upsell them to a better detector.

Alright lets take a look at what the TPX is:
for $550 you get a repackaged Blinder M17 specifically designed for motorcycles with the following benefits:
    1. Different switch
    2. Adjustable LED for visual alert
    3. Audio output jack
    4. waterproof and vibration proof.

Considering you can get a Blinder M27 for $420 which has an additional jammer head we need to consider if the increase in price and loss of the head is worth those additional four functions.

    1. Different switch: Not really seeing this as a big deal. Its pretty easy to use whatever switch you want with very rudimentary electronics skills.

    2. Adjustable LED for visual alert: Kind of neat maybe. The brighter LED would be easy to do on your own, I'm not sure how to go about making it adjustable brightness; however I don't see that as being a deal breaker.

    3. Audio output jack: I can see how this would be useful on a bike, but I also think it would be easy to yank the speaker off the blinder and wire up whatever you wanted to use.

    4. Waterproof and Vibration Proof: As far as waterproof goes, the blinder heads are obviously already waterproof so they must mean the switch and LED are waterproof. Again something you could do for yourself when putting on a new switch and alert light. Now is the CPU waterproof as well?? For Vibration I don't really see what makes it more vibration resistant than a normal blinder?

Now I don't ride a bike so my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt; however, I see this product as a giant ripoff. Everything about it seems like it would be easy to do on your own. I guess its for people who have money to blow and don't want to do much work installing it.

I actually like the idea, but the value doesn't feel right. One could just get the Cheetah M27 Rider and be covered front and back for $700. Just one additional Blinder 7 series head costs around $200, so that option gives you all of the adaptations for a bike, plus the rear head at a lower cost than getting the TPX, plus one head. Also, Tadarbusters does not sell the Blinder heads individually, so you have to shop elsewhere to get the additional head for TPX.

The idea is great, but it has been done already and the value is not in line with competing products. I'd spend the extra money on the Cheetah if it were me.

Although many of the members on this forum are enthusiasts, this forum's purpose is to steer customers to buy products from a certain dealer. That is why no one is allowed to link to any site that sells goods. Should we be allowed to post a link about a good sale about a product not sold by the sponsor of the forum? Should the sponsor sell only better products? The answer depends on the sponsor of the forum is first a businessman or enthusiast.

If certain moderators weren't so edit and ban happy, and treated this forum more as an enthusiast site, without some of the current rules, I believe most members would respect the sponsor and not direct sales to competing businesses.
