I agree !!!
The sad part is, customer support is the main part of their business. After you buy the unit, you need to constantly update it. Did the people at Navalert not think about this? Did they just think about the quick sale of the unit and not supporting it for the next 5 years?
Their website it a joke. They could at least have the current rev of update file posted in the "news" section or update section so you would know if you need to "bother" them for a new version.
Plus who else could possibly download and use this? Why keep it so hard to get and download?
I think this company needs to re-evaluate where they are going and whether they want to stay in business. We are getting 100 more cameras in the next 5 months here in AZ. When and where are the updates gonna be available? Are they really working on it?
Too many questions and they wont even respond on here as if the company is already out the door.

I know where both of you guys are coming from. I made a huge complaint about this company which got to being 7+ pages long with the (TRUTH) about the company and the products......They had empty deadlines 3Xs before they came up with an update file. Then they decided to charge Navalert users $4.95 for the update file.......Then they removed it as we all agreed as customers its not a good idea unless they made there updates with more info on them.
Like i said i made a huge thread on this and the ADMIN deleted the (TRUTH) that was behind the product because i was "bashing" on them.
I remember them saying....the way they have it NOW, with the invoice thing and them sending you a link to download the file was because Users have different navalert hardware or software in the navalert, and everything is based on the Serial # which tells them which version of the software update they will send you so it doesn't damage the navalert. NOW i don't know how true that is or not but thats what they said.

Re: Thinking of selling NavAlert for Cheeta Mirror.
If that is the case then why don't they just put it as a click to download on their page with four different options, two of them for such and such serial numbers and below and the other two for such and such serial numbers for above.
One side being for older navalerts the other for newer in total 4 buttons.
There needs to be 2 buttons each because of American and European updates in total 4 buttons.
Wouldn't that be alot easier than asking me for my life history. Sending me an invoice and not receiveing any update now still for a month now. I never received such download Link your discussing and why make it so difficult anyway when you could just place all this info directly on their HOME PAGE.

Re: Thinking of selling NavAlert for Cheeta Mirror.
Finally, the download file is here, updated and got 8064 as my Rev. number that is the latest update at this time for NavAlert as of Aug132008. It took a month for the download file to even by emailed to me? Should this task really take that long? I sure think it could be made much quicker/easier.
I mean when it takes a month for the update to be mailed to me, am I not always a Month behind in possible update files? If we on this board don't accept anything but JTG on a jammer, is being a Month behind in camera placement/activation acceptable?

Re: Thinking of selling NavAlert for Cheeta Mirror.
I ended up replacing my Navalert with a GPS and loaded the camera locations into it. The updates are more frequent (especially lately - I was using the 03-09-08 files as the newer ones wouldn't allow for the 5 or 10 over choices) and the points are more accurate. I had my Navalert tell me I had passed a camera and I still hadn't reached it. I ended up send a picture of a speed limit sign to Chris to prove that the "limit 40" that the Navalert warned of was actually 45. If they get the updates back up and frequent, I will put it back on the dash. Until then....

Are there any alternatives to NavAlert available in the USA? I've already owned a NavAlert and sent it back to Roy for a refund back when they first came out.
