Drivers warned no let-up in police crackdown

Longreach police are warning they will continue their strong presence on western Queensland roads during the coming new year's long weekend.

Acting Senior Sergeant Al McPhee has praised the behaviour of motorists over the Christmas period, with only one driver detected for drink-driving from more than 260 random breath tests.

Sergeant McPhee says in the past week, 27 drivers were detected speeding and more mobile radars will be operating during the next few days.
