The Balcones Heights City Council voted Monday night to have a traffic study conducted to determine whether red-light cameras are needed in the suburb.

The study will include four problematic intersections, including three on Fredericksburg Road and one at the intersection of Hillcrest and Babcock Road.

"You need to be able to show that you are not doing this for money purposes," Balcones Heights City Attorney Frank Garza said. "That you are doing it specifically for safety purposes."
