Speeders in Bonney Lake, you’ve been warned.
Starting Monday, the city will start handing out $101 traffic tickets for cars caught going over the speed limit in school zones, the Bonney Lake Police Department reported.
The tickets come from the city’s automated traffic safety program. The program started Monday, Sept. 11 and issued written warnings to speeding drivers. Within the first 10 days, officers recorded 2,386 violators of the speed limits in school zones.
When a vehicle is caught speeding, a ticket will be sent to the registered owner, police reported.
