Donegal to get most new speed cameras Oct 17, 5:50 pm
More speed cameras will be placed along roads in Donegal than in any other county in Ireland.
Nationally, 600 fixed and mobile speed cameras' are to be placed on the country's most dangerous roads and it has been indicated that Donegal has more dangerous roads than any other county.
Of the 400 nationwide labelled as red zones, 45 are in this county
These include the Donegal Town bypass, the N3 road to Belleek at Ballyshannon, and the N15 at Bundoran as well as numerous stretches of the N56.
57 percent of the 400 red zones are on our main national routes, an issue which is raising concern amongst politicians.
Fine Gael's Olivia Mitchell says it illustrates the gravity of the Irish road safety problem.
